Surrounded by sand dunes with no roads, running water or electricity, two American medical missionaries in the 1950s founded a hospital deep in the Arabien desert of the UAE, not knowing that this would be a groundbreaking move that would bring change to the entire Middle East. The eventual national leader of the UAE, Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan (MBZ) was born in that very hospital. Today the Kanad formerly known as Oasis Hospital is still managed by Evangelical Christians. Their personal connection with the ruling family was an important seed for the historic Abraham Accords.
